Little Women, Louisa May Alcott

If I were a 13-year-old girl, this book would probably get 5 stars. Being a 26-year-old man, I was delighted to find that it wouldn't put me to sleep. I only picked it up at the book store because I've accumulated a nice collection of classics over the years (and for a more meaningless reason, Joey from Friends liked it!). I was surprised to find that this book was very readable and valuable to adolescent growth; more-so for girls, but even boys could learn a thing or two from Mrs. Marche's monologues. The lessons in morality and the joyous compassion of the March family makes this worth a read for anyone with a good heart, or anyone struggling to change in themselves what they'd like to. The chapters about Beth were very moving, and yes, I wept like a little woman, just like Joey did. Ok let's not get carried away; I didn't cry... no wait... forget it!
