Occupy Wall Street Protests

    • Friends, Occupy Wall Street is the most important mass demonstration since the Vietnam war, and it's not on the cover of any news page.  This is further evidence that the media is trying to distract you with gossip stories like Amanda Knox.  Please do your part to support this movement- the future of the country may depend on it.   Protest for your rights in the constitution; all men were created equal; occupy Wall Street!
    • Part of the beauty of the movement is that there are no demands. Everyone has their own voice and is free to express it.  The effect is to get politicians to take us more seriously, not to usurp anyone.  Reforms are needed as soon as possible, before corporations run this country into the ground.
    • If nothing is done the revolution will be inevitable and no amount of long winded monologues are going to stop it.  Marx predicted that all capitalist systems would evolve into socialist ones because the Industrial Revolution created an imbalanced distribution of wealth.  A new monster of economic oppression overshadowed basic government theory because, to put it simply, money is power.  Then he predicted that there would be no option left but for the proletariat to revolt.  There are alternatives to violent retribution though; practical solutions have been offered by myself and many others.  Ending the Fed isn't enough; corporations will still outsource jobs, they will still campaign figureheads for political support, they will still monopolize the media, and they will still lobby for us to declare war on third world countries in the guise of freedom to profit on the massive demands for oil, steel, and troops- the backbone of the American economy.  I’ve written countless statements on why we need to limit outsourcing to keep jobs in America, stop waging wars clear across the planet, cut the ridiculous amount of taxpayer money going towards National Defense, and make it illegal for corporations to “sponsor” politicians.
    • I'm pretty sure Jesus (who was a socialist by modern standards) would be an OWS protester if he were alive today.  "It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich person to enter the Kingdom of God"  -Luke 18:25
    • The people telling protesters to get a job are the same people who said there weren't any jobs before OWS started.  God I love America.
    • Fair enough, some unions are corrupt too.  But don't forget that unions originally stood up to corporations so you wouldn't have to work 80 hour weeks in some shit-hole factory with garbage everywhere.  We still need them- they are the lesser of two evils by far.
    • Libertarians are farther right than Republicans in a lot of ways.  They want get rid of 90% of the government, which would make it easier to set up a despotic rulership.  Plus it's irresponsible to cut programs in a world that is growing increasingly complicated.  A lot of these people are "dog eat dog" Ayn Rand disciples who preach the Federalists.
    • JFK was assassinated for exposing the head of the snake.  It didn't have as much to do with the Fed as it did with the Military Industrial Complex, involving not only bankers but a select few globalist monopolies seeking third world hosts like Vietnam to exploit, suck dry, and convert to the economic order.
    • Calling a union a monopoly is like calling a baseball team the commissioner.
    • Too much socialism and too much capitalism lead the to the same unbalanced distribution of power.  Nazi Germany and Soviet Russia had too much of the former, while right now we have too much of the latter.  It's important to balance the distribution of wealth.  Corporations will always go where the cheapest bidder is to build their factories there, with no regard for human life.  Now that there are unions on the rise in China, where will they go next?
    • After World War 2 the richest 1% payed 90% of the taxes.  That's one reason we became the world's greatest Superpower.  Now they only pay for about 30% of the taxes, and look what's happening.  It wasn't the war that helped the economy recover from the Great Depression, it was FDR's New Deal, which increased the marginal tax rates on the rich substantially.  Maybe there were other factors, but that one explains a lot.  I don't think having a flat tax rate is a good idea when the upper class gets richer while the lower class get poorer.  In fact, that's one reason the gap widens.
    • TARP- you know, that 800 billion asset relief program that bailed out big banks, General Motors, insurance companies, and lobbyists.  That was back in 2008 when Dubya Bushy went on TV and looked like a wounded duck begging for the American people to buy into that horseshit.
    • It's a mistake to call a free market "free".  It's only free for the .01% to get away with any deregulation that they can, exploiting laborers until they're more reminiscent of slaves than free men.  It worked before the Industrial Revolution, but after that was when it simply became impossible.  We aren't trying to extinguish the drive to succeed, or the 1%; we just want the government to listen to the entire population and not the people who bribe them.
