The Matrix

I've fallen down the rabbit hole that is The Matrix, and I can't get out.  What a fantastic movie, one of the best ever made.  It's a total mind trip that forces you to think outside the box that is your own pathetic life.  What if reality is more than it seems?  What if beneath the surface of what we see, lies an entirely different world?  The Matrix will open your mind to that possibility in a frightening way.

I must be the only person in the world who thought Agent Smith was funny.  "I hate this place, this zoo, this reality, I can't stand it... It's the smell."  He's speaking about the rigidity of living inside a simulation.  My own life feels that way, which is why it struck me as most appropriate.

The most iconic character in this movie has to be Morpheus though.  He's a classic liberator, a wise teacher with some memorable quotes.  The scenes where he opens Neo's mind will never be forgotten.  Laurence Fishburne played him; he should win an Oscar.  Have you ever had a dream Neo, that you're sure was real?  I've had too many for comfort.  Every time it happens, I go a little farther down the rabbit hole.
