The Wings of Laughter

Laughing in the light the children play,
Dancing under trees they flit and sing,
Healing through glee the angel seeds
That grow within the breast of everything.
Leaping, flocking, smiling, laughing,
There is no greater nutrient
Than this sonic contagion.
Do it long, do it well,
From the bottom of your throat
To the tip of your tongue,
Let it all out, those wings within
That take you flying over the grass,
Around the patio, under the pergola,
Past the cat rolling in sunken dirt,
Through the loggia and out the window,
Into the lungs of the children at play,
Regenerating you with their joyful breath.
