Lust for Life, Irving Stone

In my mind this is a novel about two of the most divinely inspired brothers you will ever find: Theo and Vincent Van Gogh. Vincent is of course on the Mt. Rushmore of painters, but he wouldn't be a household name if it hadn't been for his brother Theo. I can't tell you how many times I was amazed by Theo's faith in his work. Vincent was a failure for much of his life, yet his brother stuck with him when nobody else would, supporting him out of debt when most others would feel cheated, pulling him out of every dark and stormy path he stumbled down during his frenetic career; all except the last. Vincent's story is a touching one that shows where true inspiration comes from: nature, the heart, and the bonds that tie people together.
